Only problem. There is NO evidence. Zip nada none. THey all have their receipts and they are from LOCAL gas STATIONS.

Considering the hefty fines I would face if I used my non-taxed heating oil in a diesel truck, the host committee should be fined just as equally as much for each instance, especially since they violated both state and federal law.
If the Republicans had been doing it as well, then they should be equally fined, but the excuse "the Republicans are doing it too" was thoroughly discredited.

I believe its illegal for municipalities to make a profit on reselling tax subsidized fuel.

Cities do these kind of things all the time to get big events. Why? Because they make far more then they would lose. They often give events huge breaks on say using a facility, or give them free bus transportation etc. I dont see the big deal? Thousands and Thousands of people are going to ascend onto this city, spending hundreds of thousands (millions maybe?) of dollars in the local business, from hotels, to food, to the 7-11. This city and its residents will welcome this big economic boom. At the cost of what? 10cents a gallon on gas tax?

But a CITY can not legally waive a STATE & FEDERAL tax. That is what made it illegal, and why the state attorney general is investigating.
The tax to the state & feds still needs to be paid, whether by the city or DNC. In this case, the gas is non-taxed for the sole purpose of city use, not as a giveaway.

If the City violated state law then I agree 100% it should be punished for it. How I dont know. Because in the end if the city is fined or sued, its only the tax payers who suffer. Im not sure how one can blame the DNC, perhaps they should of "known" what they were doing is wrong, but if the city says "hey you can use our pumps, just pay us the market value for it" Why would the DNC say no? To them they are just using the city pumps and paying them back for it.
What was the gas being used for anyway? Just whoever was visiting? or was it for secret service vheciles or what?
